UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT.....no longer serving food. BUT you can order food downstairs at the Happy Burrito and they will deliver it upstairs to you.
This is a cool little place. It's nice to be able to enjoy the outdoors and hang out. There is also often live music.
The patio is mostly covered. So even if it's not ideal weather you can still enjoy the outdoors. PLUS...if it's raining they charge happy hour prices.....BONUS!!
One other small downfall in addition to no food is there no wait service either. You have to order at the bar. Certainly no dealbreaker though. I still recommend it as a great place for a drink! -

Came up here thinking this was an extension of the mexican place below but they don't serve food up here, unless you count frozen pizzas. You also can't bring food up... thus, do not go hungry.
Cocktails ranged from 6 (moscow mule) but median range was 8-10.
You order at the bar for drinks and self seat. The couches get pretty hot and we went yesterday which wasn't insanely hot but just the material on the patio furniture. They have bathroom access... plan on bringing sunscreen because it's a lot of direct sunlight #MomLife amiright? Not a lot of breeze, I was pretty schweaty.
They had decent music and string lights, I'm sure a good place to go at night. -

I decided to come here with suggestion from a few friends for their grand opening, and Im glad I did!
I have been to this specific location before when it was under a different owner and name. Everything that I had wished would have been worked on to make the space more enjoyable has happened. To elaborate, I always felt that there wasnt enough shade from the beating sun and they added a rooftop (hahaha punnny) to cover the entire overhead of the bar. Dont worry though, it still lets some sunshine through, just not enough to give you a sunburn. I have also thought this place needed more live music, and the band opening night was perfect for this space and atmosphere.
As for all new bars, I realise its a work in progress coming up with a winning cocktail menu and beer selection. Theres still a few bumps here, but Im sure manager Denver will work all of that. Hes very hands on with his staff from what I saw.
Michael was an exceptional bartender! He even gave me a shot in a special shot glass made of all ice. Ive never seen anything like it before. It was so cool! (more puns!)
Make sure you visit soon. This place is a great addition to the Village! -

A group of 4 of us hiked up the stairs at 6:30 on a hot (+90) degree afternoon and were the only ones there for a while. The rooftop location is helped by a bit of a breeze and we were able to find a shady spot. The server came right over to get us our menus and drink orders and we chose a couple of glasses of wine from their reasonable selection. The wines were OK, served in the tumbler style glasses, which is good for stability on the wood tables, but not as good at keeping the wine from warming up in the outdoor setting. The other two in our party picked from the beer menu and got their selections as well.
We started out with a fresh Caprese appetizer, which was nicely prepared, a generous portion, and very tasty.
I opted for a Rukkus burger - which is a 1/3 pound burger (just the right size for me) topped with a tasty jalapeno cream cheese, grilled onions, and the requisite Iowa bacon. The burger was very good and the fries were fresh and crisp. My wife got the citrus humus plate appetizer for her meal. It had black bean dip, fresh pico, and a mound of chips. It also came with a smattering of veggies. All fresh and good.
Out dining companions split the mozzarella sticks and Margherita flatbread. The mozzarella sticks were thick and chocked full of cheese. The same might be said for the pizza! It was not at all what I'm used to seeing as a 'flatbread', but it was heaped with toppings on a pretty thick crust and fresh tomatoes. They'd had plenty sharing the combination of the two items once they'd polished them off.
We did try out a few other drinks - including a pretty tasty margarita, which was a good option on a hot summer night.
Service was very attentive - perhaps enhanced by us being the only ones there for a while, although a few more people started to show us as the sun dropped down. The view isn't quite as good at many tables as you'd get at some other outdoor bars in Iowa, but it is still great to be outside as often as we can make it happen.
Overall it was good food and drink with outdoor ambiance and good service. -

Beautiful views, and comfy seating. Get the Paloma if you want something slightly sweet!
